‘Mt. McKinley,’ 12×24 alla prima painting by Gloria Hopkins

It is known to the US government as Mt. McKinley, to Alaskans as Denali, and to the indigenous people of Alaska it is known as The High One, Mt. McKinley is one impressive mountain. At a 20,310 foot elevation McKinley boasts the tallest peak in North America, and aesthetically it is a beautiful mountain. I have painted it a number of different ways, with another in progress. On a clear day you can see it all the way from Anchorage. If you’re lucky enough to see its peak splashed with alpenglow, don’t forget to grab a few frames with your camera. This painting features a gallery wrap canvas, requires no frame, and it has a seven day return policy.
